With great warmth and nuance, the film tells a story of growing up, self-discovery, and the quest to find a way to stay true to oneself. The story is based on Fatima Daas’s autobiographical bestseller. Lead actress Nadia Melliti won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance. The film itself was awarded the Queer Palm.</span>
